Mission
Our mission is to preserve reefs and coastal ecosystems through research, communication and by supporting sustainable land and environmentally sensitive practices.
Vision
GreenPlanetBlueOcean has a vision of increasing public awareness of marine/land inter-related ecosystems. We are the voice of what is happening ‘below,’ bringing to the surface the impacts of non-sustainable practices in areas where growth surpasses sustainable infrastructure. As the home of many of our current medicines and the nursery ground for precious sealife, we work to protect this diversity by engaging and supporting local communities in environmental initiatives and land based best practices in sewage management.
Goal
GreenPlanetBlueOcean works with the local community in the Xaman Reef (The Meso American reef extending from Puerto Aventuras to Tulum, Mexico) to enhance conservation practices and to support those who are seeking to make this reef a Marine Protected Area. Our reefs represent less than 10 percent of of the entire earth’s surface, and by 2012, we envision a model that will be available to other areas facing similar growth impacts.

We hold to a Vision of Achieving Measurable Results in All We Do.
Much conservation funding is spent on analysis and gathering data. It is our goal to act on this data and implement effective conservation methods.
Respect the Communities and Cultures that We Serve
By engaging the local community in our efforts, we celebrate those committed to sustainability and augment education where it is most needed. The local community is dependent upon the natural systems that we protect. The Tourism industry thrives on the well-being of the reef and through education and conservation strategies, we will work to sustain this precious resource.
